Opening Breitling and Panerai Casebacks
First a Disclaimer: I do not recommend that you do this, but because I received several emails about how this is done, and also several email about where to purchase the opener if I ‘ ‘ve used in the video Panerai, j’ont decided to write a post on it. Opening a watch and maintain and regulation should be done by an experienced professional. However if you are so inclined, you can give a projectile.

Opening a Breitling Caseback

Breitling Casebacks have 15 sides, which make them a little odd and apparently initially difficult to open. However, they can be opened with a simple opener Jaxa quality. This can slightly damage or put small dents in the rear case as openers Jaxa do not fit perfectly. Remember if you open the bag, an appropriate case is also used to determine the case.

Jaxa a tool like this:

The more appropriate way to open a Breitling caseback is to employ a Breitling caseback trimmed down to 15 die designed for use in openers Horotec or Bergeon. These are large devices with large wheels on top that look anything like this:

Breitling die (and die Panerai too for that matter) look like this:

They fit into the opener and open the caseback without damage. The openers cases are expensive, about $ 600, and the caseback are matrices of about $ 80 each. You’ll need a different size depending on the size of your Breitling.

Opening a Panerai Caseback

Opening a Panerai Caseback is a little easier (cheaper!) Without damage to your watch. There caseback dies just like the Breitling those, but with 12 sides like the Panerai casebacks have 12 sides. Panerai Casebacks also come in 3 different sizes, for which you can use the methods mentioned above the one just opened bags of Breitling may be open, but there are openers held in the main aluminum casebacks the panera of that work really well.

These openers caseback are made from aluminum, which is softer than the steel used in your case so it is less for the strike. Also they offer very good grip and cost about $ 50-100 depending where you buy them. Belt of working-thems selling for $ 85 IIRC:

This is the opener I used in the video distort Panerai. I turned the crank that open because my friend gave me his permission and a clock wrong. I also opened my PAM250 without problems and it works with the real deal as well!

Anyway. do not blame me if you break something. I do not recommend doing this unless you feel comfortable with him, and even then, I recommend finding a quality watchmaker to fix your watch is something is askew.
