A happy holiday to all watch lovers!
Being that I am also an avid hand made custom knife, seeing that Damascus used in watch production was very interesting for me. I saw the use of Allen Elishewitz Damascus on some of the watches made to order, but I do not see I used to watch production.

The angular momentum is used to dial the whole of their shows to “Digital.” Do not worry, there is always an automatic mechanical movement. He’s just a digital display, as they say. You can see here:

Now I am a big fan of Damascus for knife blades because it is a beautiful material, and models of grain coming several times to hammer and fold the different types of steel on itself are stunning . However, I think this watch is not executed very well. The Damascus look that way on the dial is a little cheap.

There are many different types of Damascus steel, and that they have chosen for this application was not the prettiest, and I think they could have done better. However, it is an interesting beginning, and perhaps we will see more Damascus and probably Mokum on watches in the future.

,

Ebay Frankenwatches Argentina and Ukraine
I figured that this deserves a post because I had observed some of the Ukraine and Argentina sellers make thousands of dollars in addition to frankenwatches deliberately forged from eBay buyers confident.

BUYERS TAKE CARE! When you buy a watch vintage Ukraine, Russia or Argentina, do not you can get what you pay!

I searched for a model conversion pocket watch watch, like many on ebay am. My concern was naturally the authenticity of a piece if I had to buy something that was a little more expensive than your usual price $ 150-200. As one of these watches or Hy Moser Longines WWII which seem so abundant in Ukraine.

See the watch shows listed each week in the dozens, I started to question if these watches were in fact true. particularly since most of the movement was looking for this to be incorrect entries or in many cases absent registration for the dial that has been attached. I did a little research and I looked on several boards everywhere, and it certainly appears there is a consensus. Most of these watches are fakes or frankenwatches with parts obtained from many different places. This is the problem with the substance of purchasing raw. You never know when it is true.

The watch works of Wilson Journal Browser
Following up on my research shows the sub-$ 500 is the final work of a watch Navi Wilson, which I briefly mentioned the other day.

The substance of work shows Wilson (WWW) is not well known, particularly outside of ebay, but very impressive. I stumbled on the work of Wilson’s shows when I was reviewing by ebay to various watches using Swiss Unitas 6497/6498 movement. These are the pieces made by hand from the USA, made from boxes and dials worked in Germany, with the Swiss Luminova. Before the crystals are sapphire, double AR coated, crystal exhibition back from ore K1.

The model I selected is up the browser, or is this what I called him at least because of the dial browser with Chris because WWW does not have the model names yet. The dials and cases are completely sterile. It is 42mm, and blew the pearl stainless steel. They are available with any combination of cases, dials and movements. You can choose to install a seagull movement if you prefer, and you save about $ 150.

As you can see, the dial navigator black semi-gloss is very well crafted, with the Swiss expert Luminova applied to all external markers and arabic externally. The hour and minute hands are both illuimated.

I put my belt on a German driver with rivets in a dark chocolate brown, and I think it seems fanastic. Chris offers on vintage belts or dam, but I am partial to the double belt rivet driver and I mine originating elsewhere.

The crown is very well worked full of stainless and pearl finely blown as well. The movement is nice and loose-free, unlike the Chinese copies of unitas seagull. The boxes are manufactured by a company in Germany which also produces boxes for watches and Tourby Lum-Tech, which sell watches almost identical for almost twice the price, which is probably fair market value. The work shows Wilson is not even exclusive dial and case designs, but the quality is the same, and so you save money.

This case uses screws hook, no bar appears, which is a little sweet. The screw threads are very strong and well-threaded, and not likely to strip. They are polished, which gives a nice contrast to the checkout blown.

Caseback exhibition showing the movement is Swiss ETA Unitas 6497, undecorated, but fight hard. Did not really checked the accuracy, but it was within seconds of my Breitling that I synched to in the course of a day. Naturally Unitas was not a complication of date, but most days I can do without it – do not stop the search, however.

On my wrist, the case of 42mm is fanastic. Probably the perfect size, although the crown of diamond spikey hollow in my wrist sometimes. But I watch and love the case. Everything about it screams quality and at a price of $ 459, it is certainly the price and very close to the watch $ 500 perfect for me. I found the pieces of Tourby as well, but at $ 800 +, they should really give me something that is not WWW. And until then, I’ll stick to my WWW browser.
